Anthony Tabasso's main areas of practice are creditors rights and commercial litigation.  Mr. Tabasso has represented numerous national and regional lending institutions, major corporations, closely held corporations, partnerships and individuals in a wide range of commercial disputes.  He has represented these clients in all aspects of the litigation process, in both State and Federal Court, and in various alternative dispute resolution venues.  Mr. Tabasso's experience also extends to commercial loan workouts.

Mr. Tabasso has successfully represented lenders in litigation involving claims made by debtors under the Truth in Lending Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. Such representation includes successfully defending major regional banks against counterclaims brought by debtors under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and successfully representing national and regional lenders against suits brought by debtors based on the Truth in Lending Act.

Mr. Tabasso has been named a Pennsylvania Rising Star® in 2011 by a vote of his peers.

Mr. Tabasso's representations include:

  • Representing a New York based Hedge Fund in a $19 Million Commercial foreclosure action;
  • Representing banks and other lending institutions in the workout and recovery phases of delinquent and non-performing financing transactions;
  • Defending banks and other lending institutions in actions brought pursuant to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and in lender-liability actions;
  • Restructuring/workout of loan transactions to ensure non-adversarial recovery of monies owed;
  • Liquidating and recovering collateral assets;
  • Representing national equipment leasing companies in recovery of monies owed and equipment leased;
  • Representing major area information technology company in an action against a securities brokerage firm;
  • Representing a local construction company against a national insurance company or breach of a settlement agreement;
  • Representing various entities in connection with the acquisition of distressed loan portfolios;
  • Representing a client in dispute with major local restaurant  franchisor;
  • Representing a minority partner in a suit over ownership of a major flag hotel;
  • Representing local and regional hotel ownership groups in secured loan workouts;
  • Representing local and regional real estate developers in secured loan workouts;
  • Documenting financial transactions secured by commercial real estate;
  • Representing commercial landlords in lease disputes;
  • Representing commercial landowners in real estate tax appeals;
  • Litigating disputes arising from construction contracts; and
  • Litigating adverse possession claims.
