| | Jon S. RobinsPartnerMr. Robins is a partner in the firm's Real Estate and Finance Department. His practice includes a full range of real estate finance and real estate activities for capital markets and institutional lenders, fund managers, developers, corporations and investors. Mr. Robins has extensive experience representing lenders, including banks, insurance companies, conduit lenders and private equity funds, in the origination, purchase, sale, restructuring and enforcement of mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, subordinate ("B") Notes, participation interests and preferred equity investments, and in structuring and negotiating intercreditor, co-lender and participation and servicing agreements.
His practice includes the representation of lenders and borrowers in complex work-outs and restructurings of mortgage loans, mezzanine loans and preferred equity investments in the greater Philadelphia region and nationally. Mr. Robins regularly advises mortgage and mezzanine lenders and preferred equity investors as to the strategies and tactics for resolving default situations. He is currently representing mezzanine lenders and preferred equity investors in enforcing their remedies, taking control of the subject properties and where applicable, conducting the requisite UCC sale.
Mr. Robins regularly represents CMBS lenders in the origination of mortgage and mezzanine loans often involving unique or complicated structures, and is one of the leading attorneys in the country with respect to tenancy-in-common financing. Mr. Robins continues to represent equity investors, including investment funds, investing in real estate and real-estate-related financial assets. He advises both investors and developer/operating partners in joint-venture investments and has negotiated numerous partnership and operating agreements.
Mr. Robins has extensive experience representing various developers and institutions in the acquisition, development, repositioning and disposition of real estate, including hotels, retail centers, multi-family properties and office buildings. Mr. Robins advises companies on strategic real estate decisions, and has extensive experience representing both acquirers and targets with respect to the real estate aspects of corporate M & A transactions.
