Jawad H. Salah

Biography

Mr. Salah is an attorney in the Real Estate & Finance Department of the firm and concentrates his practice in the area of commercial real estate and finance transactions, with a focus on private equity and portfolio clients.  Mr. Salah specializes in acquisitions (including via negotiated bankruptcy) of large scale going-concern and/or distressed businesses across a wide range of industries with multi-state, multi-property portfolios of real estate.  Mr. Salah provides guidance throughout the real estate asset cycle, from initial diligence and acquisition, to legal and business issues arising in the course of asset management and operation, to the sale, leasing and disposition of real property assets, whether during the ordinary course of operations or in connection with a company sale or investor exit.  Mr. Salah's most recent experience prior to joining the firm includes Islamic and Shariah-compliant real estate financing at major firms in New York City.

  • Assisting a national private equity fund in portfolio industrial and retail transactions involving the direct and indirect acquisition and leasing of domestic and foreign real estate, as well as the disposition of redundant real estate assets;
  • Assisting a large regional health-care provider and research center in the local expansion of its world-class cancer treatment and research facilities;
  • Assisting a merchant power plant builder in evaluating and acquiring multiple tracts of real property in connection with the construction of a power plant, water treatment plant, and associated water and coal pipelines and conveyors;
  • Assisting a client in connection with the commercial financing (including participations and securitized debt) of large flagged hotel and resort projects in the United States and the Caribbean; and
  • Assisting clients in the acquisition and disposition of individual commercial and industrial real properties.
